1. Talk about the problem first.

Donald Miller said to me, “Unless you are talking about a persons problem, they’re not listening”. So take a moment and write down your customers’ problems. There will be more than one. 


Once you have written them down, it’s now time to choose the main one and then dig a little deeper. Normally this means making it worse by expressing “how they feel.” 


2. Give the solution to the problem you just stated

Don’t give a long drawn out pre-amble. Make it short. People don’t want a long dissertation.



Your StoryBrand one liner will be used in your email, on your website and also in one on one discussions or even group events. Make it sound like a new idea.


3. It’s happy ending time but it must include how they will ‘feel’.

We call this ‘ramping up the success’. The thing is you want to do it in a way that makes them ‘feel’ something.
